This is an inspiring story. However, it is emphasized that they earn $77,500 a year, with $4.370 a month being after taxes. Still, being exposed to this motivational story helped me remember to set my intent and plan out legal ways to make at least 3400 dollars a month or more after taxes (within the next 2 years). I prefer to avoid publicly disclosing how much I make on this forum, especially because I just mentioned the baseline amount that would help me husband and I to feel more abundant. However, I feel fine admitting that this is one of my priorities because I'm of course thankful to have a job, but one of the reasons why I intend to take action towards a higher income for my husband and I is partially because a significant portion of my paycheck is deducted from being taxed quite a large percentage due to my taxpayer status and for two tax categories (one of Maryland taxes and another for Prince George County taxes). I also found out that (as a Maryland resident)my paycheck was also mistakenly taxed for Washington D.C. taxes. I wish to avoid saying more for legal and security reasons.

I tried to get a Valentines Day link for couples who reside outside of Hollywood, however here is one that comes close (from the Boston Globe) even though it was published December 2014.

Seventy-five couples. One room. And one question.
“What’s the secret to a long marriage?’’
In theory, they all know the answer. To get into this room in the Taj Boston, into this event sponsored by the city’s Commission on Affairs of the Elderly, they have all met a very lengthy requirement: They have been married for 50 years. At least.
Together, they represent 3,820 years of matrimony.
So what, then, is the secret? Let’s start with the deans of Monday’s event, Benjamin and Rosemary Kreder of West Roxbury, who are at 72 years and counting.

They, like many in this room, say laughter is at the top of the list.
He says he knew he was going to marry her the moment he heard her laugh at a picnic, 75 years ago.
She laughs at this story because she doesn’t believe a word of it.
“But he always makes me laugh,” Rosemary Kreder, 91, said. “His jokes are so bad that they’re actually funny. And he always waits for the laugh.”
And with that story, she gives him that laugh.
For Anthony and Anna Marie Fiore of East Boston, who were married in 1956, the secret to a long marriage is supporting each other, no matter what.
“I always say, ‘I think you’re right,’ ” Anthony said. “But I say ‘think’ so that I cover for myself if I think she’s wrong.”
With the joking and the sideways looks out of the way, they both say something obvious, something that comes up again and again with these couples: What made it work was that they started with true love and grew together into a team.

Before the Fiores were married, Anthony fought in the Korean War. While he was at a military base in Virginia, he heard the song “Unchained Melody” come on the radio “and all I could see was her face,” he said. That’s when he knew they were going to be married.
Two children, six grandchildren, and one heart attack later, they are still going strong.
For Booker and Willie Anne Wilson of Dorchester, they say that space has played an important role in their 51-year marriage.
“First off, purchase a big house so you can get your space from each other,” Booker, 72, said with a laugh.
“And talk about everything,” Willie Anne, 71, added with a look that said, “We’re going to talk about your answer.”

As each couple answered that one simple question — “What’s the secret?” — it was impossible to miss the role that humor played in each relationship, a gentle, offhand way of dealing with the struggles that every couple must ultimately face.
“I win all the arguments,” Bill Downey, 78, said, only to be nudged by his wife, Ann.
“No arguments,” Bill said, quickly revising his answer. “And do what the other person says.”
The West Roxbury couple have been married 56 years, and when they put the joking aside, she says it’s that old simple formula of respect, love, and being there for one another.

Yunzhong Xie and Cuie Zhu were married in China in 1959, and Cuie said it was hard to come up with any significant moment, and tangible reason, that they were still happy all these years later.
“In general, we respect each other,” she said through a translator. “That would be our one secret.”
And, as many couples mentioned, giving each other space.
“If my wife is upset, I walk away and let her take time to deal with it,” Yunzhong Xie said, smiling while he waited for the translator.
The event, which took place in the grand dining room at the Taj, was what you might call “age-appropriate.” There was water in the wine glasses, sparkling cider in the champagne flutes, and a band playing oldies that were, at some point in their lives, new.
Some couples, particularly Xie and Zhu, ripped up the dance floor. Others used it as a place to park their walkers while they sat to eat.
Mayor Martin J. Walsh arrived toward the end of the event and gave a short speech that again played on the humor of long relationships.
“There are 75 couples in here, which means there are 75 very smart men in this room,” Walsh said. “They all know when to keep their mouth shut.”

This is what it’s like to be a new, single mom at 51
Becoming a mother at age 51 has obviously brought joy for this successful publicist. Jane Ridley of the the New York posts lists Tracey Kahn as a woman who has a successful career as a public relations specialist for a prominent jeweler. It is not my place to judge because my husband and I are child-free. i just found it inspirational that she juggled both a high profile career and an active social life while being a single mother. I admit that I would just be enjoying my life as it is if I'm juggling both a career as a public relations specialist and an exciting social life. However, I'm posting this story because I have to admit that the story around Tracey Kahn is impressive because she has successfully juggled a career as a P.R. businesswoman with the demands of motherhood. I'm guessing that Kahn is going to have an easy time attracting a husband because she is already financially successful and has her own career (The New Post lists that her fertility treatments cost 75k). I say these things because it is common knowledge that men are now looking for women that are financially successful and no longer just women doing so.

Prior to reading this article, I was already aware of why it
is important to always be thankful that I was born an American citizen.
Additionally, I was already aware of benefits of also appreciating my privilege
and opportunities in being able to live in a country of numerous community
colleges and universities (and the choice and opportunity in being able to
enroll in any of them as I see fit), However, this article is a benevolent
reminder of that even more, especially reading about the measures that many of
these students take just to be able to attend any of the several accredited
community colleges and universities across the United States of America.

I can understand why others may be saying that this new look suits Kim Kardashian. However, the natural brunette hair color and natural long hair was one of the features that went with her unique looks. I get that she may be trying to get a new look to accompany the positive news of the 100 million dollar contract that E is giving both her and other members of her family. Kim Kardashian has more than enough money for the rest of her current lifetime to get her hair done at a top of the line salon whether she continues to dye it blonde or go back to her natural hair color. However, the first thing that came to my mind when I saw this article is that she may be naturally trying to emulate her friend Beyonce. This is only understandable because Beyonce is known globally for both her music talent and immense wealth (even to the point where she was recently in the news with Kid Rock discussing Beyonce). However, my main point is that look unofficially pays homage to her friend Beyonce while obviously simultaneously doubling as a beauty move garnering more PR ( a case study for this aspiring public relations specialist). The final reason being; love or hate Kim Kardashian but she has successfully manifested an abundant amount of financial wealth with just a high school diploma (in a society where it is tricky to obtain a higher paying job without a college degree).

Humbly but reluctantly, I admit to have enjoyed the good fortune of previously owning a reliable and well maintained 2006 Mazda 3 from January 2007 until the summer of 2008. I intend to own this car again (with a secret timeline I have set for myself). One of the positive features of the mazda 3 is gas mileage. For instance, when Rusty and I lived in Norfolk Virginia, it was not uncommon for us to pay 80 dollars a month to fill the gas tank of what was a beige/tan 2006 Mazda 3 (itouring edition).

An article so timely, relevant, and healing at a time where I'm in a dilemma about leaving an area (the Washington D.C. area) that has grown on me and where I originally planned on residing long-term just 2-3 years ago (as stated n a previous post). This is especially a challenging decision for me because I know where I would go to live and secretly do regardless of what others think. However, as stated before, this is still a tough decision because my husband and I both enjoy living here and have even done a long distance marriage before. However, even though we're both open to doing a long distance marriage again if necessary (for economic reasons) this is a decision we both understand to avoid taking lightly. This is especially because I reluctantly admit to underestimating how tricky it would be to find post military/college graduation employment that pays at least 2200 a month after taxes for a childfree person.

I diplomatically disagree with some of the points made in this article, especially the implication that the U.S. military has it easier in relation to the civilian population. This is because I feel that comparing U.S. military life and employment to civilian government employment is akin to comparing oranges to apples. You also cannot lump civilian government employment and military employment together (two completely different worlds/experiences).I would also like to see more comments on those who have left the military since 2009.
