Dancing on a Stamp: Startling Revelations from the Other Side by Garnet Schulhauser Edition: Paperback Price: $11.37 47 used & new from $6.20
Conversations With A Spirit Ally, April 19, 2014 Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Dancing on a Stamp: Startling Revelations from the Other Side (Paperback) Dancing On A Stamp by Garnet Schulhauser is written by a retired lawyer living in Canada. This book tells of the conversations that he had with a mysterious looking stranger who gave him some very mystical and insightful information. The following is some of the information that is given: Souls can choose to opt out of reincarnating back on earth at any time. They do not have to have previously “graduated” or achieve spiritual enlightenment when choosing to opt out of reincarnating and enjoying the love and happiness prevalent on the spirit side. It is important to try to listen to your intuition as much as possible due to the fact that the messages of intuition come from one’s higher self (often during vital transitions in a man or woman’s life). Shocking Information On Karma (pages 143-148) and The Law of Attraction (pages 165-168). There is much more profound information in “Dancing On A Stamp”, which is best for those who are seekers of spiritual truth. However, one must have an open mind because the details written are based on the author’s communications with his spirit guide.  Comment | Permalink
Post Honey Bunch of Oats Morning Energy Chocolatey Almond Crunch 15 oz (Pack of 2) Offered by Kidz Bedazzled Price: $12.71 6 used & new from $10.49
Nourishing Cereal, April 19, 2014 This review is from: Post Honey Bunch of Oats Morning Energy Chocolatey Almond Crunch 15 oz (Pack of 2) (Misc.) I decided to go with purchasing Honey Bunches of Oats Morning Energy (Chocolatey Almond Crunch) after unintentionally spotting a coupon for it at my work area during my shift. I was routinely doing the tasks for my stock clerk job when I found a coupon for a dollar off this cereal. It was an easy choice for me to try this cereal because I was able to combine with 1 dollar off coupon with my Walmart employee discount. The cereal tasted pretty good and the taste elements of the cornflakes, almond pieces, oat pieces, and small chocolate pieces also made it a filling cereal. This cereal is listed to have 33 grams of whole grain with one serving and five grams of fiber per serving.  Comment | Permalink
Direct Hits [Deluxe Edition] Price: $14.88 76 used & new from $6.32
Killers Alternative/Indie Rock Singles, April 19, 2014 This review is from: Direct Hits [Deluxe Edition] (Audio CD) I admit that I originally saw the Direct Hits by the Killers featured online and was undecided on whether or not to get it. However, I went ahead with purchasing this after spotting a this type of cd at my job. By the time I finalized my decision on obtaining it I had went ahead with ordering Direct Hits by The Killers (deluxe version) through Walmart’s website online. I am a little familiar with this group after hearing a couple of songs on the radio around 2004/2005 when I was living in California (through the United States Navy). Direct Hits by the Killers contains some of their well- known hits such as Mr. Brightside and Somebody Told Me. Obviously, I like both of those songs. Although, Shot At The Night and Be Still are also some of the songs that caught my attention from this collection. Direct Hits by the Killers is great for those who are opening to listening to alternative rock music.  Comment | Permalink

Mad Men, The Final Season DVD Price: $22.99
An Auspicious Beginning To Dramatically Changed Lives, April 19, 2014 This review is from: Mad Men, The Final Season (Amazon Instant Video) Mad Men Season 7 Episode 1 features the character of Don Draper making the best out of his new life and naturally wanting to improve both his personal and professional life. He chooses to stay in a place with a view and interacts with Pete Campbell, who appears happy in his new surroundings. The character of Joan is Harris is dealing with a business contract that involves a footwear company and is shown meeting a college professor regarding assistance in navigating certain aspects of her professional work. I admit that I look forward to the journey that the character of Don Draper (craftily played by John Hamm)undergoes as he carefully pieces both his marriage back together and regains his career footing. However, I admit that I also like watching the show because of the portrayals done by Christina Hendricks as Joan Harris and I also look forward to January Jones in her Betty Francis role during upcoming episodes. This is because Christina Hendricks reasonably plays a woman who is always calm under professional pressure and keeps her cool when various people question her abilities (such as the case with her meeting with the professor). I enjoy watching January Jones solid performance as a woman who is a survivor of what happened between her and Don and also staying emotionally strong during a time when many women were still greatly restricted in their professional career choices. I am fortunate in being able to access all six seasons through the Netflix subscription that my husband and I share. However, I enjoy the Mad Men series to the point where I would like to eventually purchase the complete season sets (1-7) of Mad Men within the next 18 months.  Comment | Permalink
Sherlock: Season 1 DVD ~ Benedict Cumberbatch Price: $24.96 20 used & new from $20.06
Martin and Cumberbatch in Police-like Detective Work, April 19, 2014 This review is from: Sherlock: Season 1 (DVD) Sherlock Season 1 stars Benedict Cumberbatch as Sherlock Holmes and Martin Freeman as John Watson. Cumberbatch and Martin both work together well in playing the roles of men who put so much into their work. Both are surprisingly calm during situations that would test the tranquility of many such as the episode where they had to figure out who was responsible for orchestrating what appeared to be suicides at first. Sherlock Season 1 is great for those who enjoy mystery type of television shows.  Comment | Permalink
Entourage: Season 1 DVD ~ Adrian Grenier Price: $16.98 72 used & new from $0.49
Group of Friends Navigating The Game That Is Hollywood, April 19, 2014 This review is from: Entourage: Season 1 (DVD) Entourage Season One is a two disc set that follows the journey of three men who are helping their friend to successfully hit the game of fame and fortune in Hollywood. It was actually fun watching many of the events that the men were a part of as they navigate the professional and social scene of Hollywood. I also liked how the first episode highlighted how the men can both joke with each other and still encourage each other at the same time. I look forward to watching more and I’m undecided whether to purchase each season as a separate dvd or buying the whole dvd set. The preview parts of the dvd are for such shows as the Ali G show and “The Comeback” starring Lisa Kudrow. The Special features of disc two include behind the scenes coverage of Entourage and the options to use audio commentary. Mark Wahlberg is one of the men interviewed to explain how the concept of Entourage came into being. Disc One also has the special features of audio commentary. Walhberg explains that the actors used to embody entourage resemble the guys that were in his social group (Adrien Grenier, Kevin Connolly, Jeremy Priven, Jerry Ferrara, and Kevin Dillon).  Comment | Permalink
				Jerry Maguire DVD Price: $2.99
Career Politics In the Sports World, April 19, 2014 Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Jerry Maguire (Amazon Instant Video) In Jerry Maguire , Tom Cruise gives a substantial portrayal as a sports agent who is forced to reinvent himself (careerwise) after he is fired by the same guy that he mentored. He was writing for Sports Management International and had written a mission document type of book that caught the interest of an accountant in his office named Dorothy Boyd (Renee Zellweger). The character of Boyd also becomes important in the movie because she is the one who follows Maguire, despite the uncertainty, after he is let go from his job. Maguire’s former protégée secures most of his previous clients. Luckily for Maguire, he at least is able to successfully make a deal with Rod Tidwell, a professional football player (played by Cuba Gooding Jr.).  Comment | Permalink
				Top Gun DVD Price: $2.99
Military Tom Cruise, April 19, 2014 Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Top Gun (Amazon Instant Video) I admit that I use to have the “Top Gun” soundtrack years ago (around 2000-2001) before ever watching the Top Gun movie in its entirety. The cd was stolen (around 2001 not too long after I got it) and I have an idea who did it. However, I decided to let it go due to the fact that the cd was replaceable and it was my own fault for leaving the cd out in the eating gallery area that I was working in (I did a stint of temporary food service when I was still in the navy). However, I finally got the chance to watch the Top Gun movie and I am now interested in getting both the dvd and eventually repurchasing the soundtrack. The movie stars Tom Cruise as navy pilot Lieutenant Pete Mitchell and highlights his brilliant performance as a United States Naval Aviator officer who gets trained at the Navy’s Fighter Weapons School in Miramar. He thrives during this training and charms one of the civilian consultants named Charlotte Blackwood in this school (played by Kelly McGillis). Blackwood falls strongly in love with Mitchell and is forced to temporarily hide her feelings due to the conflict of interest in regards to her role with Mitchell. The character of Pete Mitchell vies to be one of the best at Navy Flight school and the competition between fellow pilot Lieutenant Tom Kazansky (Val Kilmer) actually brings out the best in him. Anthony Edwards plays LtJG Nick Bradshaw (a close friend to Pete Mitchell). Top Gun is great for those who like action filled navy themed movies.  Comment | Permalink
				J. Edgar DVD Price: $1.99
DiCaprio’s Take On J Edgar Hoover’s Life, April 19, 2014 Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: J. Edgar (Amazon Instant Video) I admit that I was only interested in watching J. Edgar (directed and produced by Clint Eastwood)due to Leonardo DiCaprio starring in it. He is one of my top seven favorite actors, and I am among the group of people that felt that DiCaprio was robbed of an Oscar this year (for his role in Wolf of Wall Street). Leonardo Di Caprio carefully plays both the good and shadowy aspects of J. Edgar’s lifelong career in the FBI. The film shows how his mother had a strong influence on his professional and personal demeanor (played by Judi Dench). The positive side of him that the movie showed was through the Lindbergh kidnapping incident where he showed determination to track down whoever was responsible for the kidnapping. One of the incidents in the movie that showcases the shadowy side of Hoover is shown through how he reacts to Martin Luther King Jr. accepting the Nobel Peace Prize in 1964. Naomi Watts plays the role of Helen Gandy, Hoover’s personal secretary. Arnie Hammer plays the role of Clyde Tolson, a man who initially became FBI clerk and is listed to have eventually been promoted to Associate Director of FBI. The end of the J. Edgar movie lists the following facts: The contents of Hoover’s “personal” and “confidential” papers will never be known. Only a few clues from misfiled documents have surfaced. Clyde Tolson inherited Hoover’s estate, moved into his house, and accepted the U.S. flag draped over Hoover’s coffin. Clyde Tolson is buried a few yards away from Hoover’s grave in the Congressional Cemetary.  Comment | Permalink Robin Hood - Men in Tights DVD ~ Carey Elwes Price: $5.00 182 used & new from $0.01  Robinhood’s Quest To Get Back His Life, April 19, 2014 This review is from: Robin Hood - Men in Tights (DVD) Robin Hood: Men In Tights is a comical parody on traditional Robin Hood films that deals with the character of Robin of Loxley (played by Cary Elwes) embarking on a mission to regain his father’s kingdom. He ends up getting some help along the way from a man named Achoo (played by Dave Chappelle), his family’s servant Blinkin (Mark Blankfield) Little John (Eric Kramer), and Will Scarlett O Hara (Matthew Porretta), In the midst of all of this Robin of Loxley meets a woman named Maid Marian (Amy Yasbeck) at a royal dinner meant to confront the man who stole his father’s kingdom. Maid Marian falls in love with Robin of Loxley at the first sight of meeting him. It becomes obvious that this does not sit too well with the Sheriff of Rottingham (Roger Rees). This is because the Sheriff also is interested in Maid Marian. Latrine the Witch (played by Tracey Ullman) has a crush on the Sheriff. Prince John (Richard Lewis) uses this knowledge to his advantage to get Latrine the Witch to help him defeat Robin of Loxley in exchange for Latrine the Witch to have an affair with the Sheriff of Rottingham. Patrick Stewart and Mel Brooks are also among the multiple celebrities that make appearances in Robinhood: Men of Tights.  Comment | Permalink Star Wars: The Clone Wars (Widescreen Edition) DVD ~ Matt Lanter Offered by bookscoutfinds Price: $14.20 125 used & new from $0.01  Saving The Republic, April 19, 2014 This review is from: Star Wars: The Clone Wars (Widescreen Edition) (DVD) Star Wars: The Clone Wars movie deals with the character of Anakin Skywalker being sent on a mission to help deal with certain elements that threaten to undermine the Republic. This review is from: National Geographic Traveler February / March 2013 Europe's Best Small Ports! I admit that this issue of National Geographic Traveler caught my attention because I wanted to check out a single issue before deciding on whether or not to travel. Additionally, I consider myself a proud and patriotic American who is fortunate to have actually been born in the U.S. (Illinois) and raised in the Midwest (I lived in both Illinois and Wisconsin until I was 7 and then just Illinois until I was 19). I also plan on continuing to live and work in the U.S. for rest of my current lifetime (I prefer to keep the state where I plan on settling for the long term a secret for now). However, ever since my teenage years I have dreamed of traveling England, as well as other parts of Europe. Additionally, I dream of visiting Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and revisiting Japan(both the shared goal of my husband and I). This single issue caught my attention due to the feature of Europe’s best ports and my enjoyment of other travel magazines (In Britain, Conde Naste Traveler, Travel & Leisure, Luxury Travel Advsior, Elite Traveler) and how this issue would be similar to those. The following is some of the content covered in this single issue of National Geographic Traveler: Page 22-Feature on New Zealand Pages 29-30-Information on Madrid, Spain. Obviously I understand that Hideaway could be about something else, I’m only guessing that “Hideaway” is maybe a song about liking someone and having a sense that they enhance various aspects of one’s life. Regardless of the meaning, “Hideway” is a great pop song with hints of electronic music.  Comment | Permalink Red Lights Price: $1.29  Intense Heart, April 19, 2014 Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Not Giving Up (MP3 Music) From my perspective,“Not Giving Up” by The Saturdays appears to be an appealing pop/dance song about mixing persistence with being in love with someone. The Saturdays put their unique spin on “Not Giving Up.” However, I would have to recommend this song for those who either like dance pop and/or also like music from Girls Aloud (due to the sound of this track reminded me a little bit of “Something Kinda Ooh” by Girls Aloud).  Comment | Permalink Wizard Price: $1.29  Background Music Brilliance, April 19, 2014 Verified Purchase(What's this?) This is because I understand that this is both an enjoyable song and yet slightly melancholy at the same time. I wanted to understand why such a dramatic song is soothing to my soul. According to the website songfactsdotcom, Corey Taylor mentioned that “Bother” is both about a person losing and finding themselves simultaneously. “Bother” by Stone Sour is a deep and emotional alternative rock song.  Comment | Permalink Metallica: Through The Never DVD Price: $3.99  Hybrid of A Great Concert/Horror Movie, April 19, 2014 Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Metallica: Through The Never (Amazon Instant Video) I was curious to watch Metallica “Through The Never” after hearing the song “The Unforgiven” and being curious to hear it in concert form. It was my own fault for not checking the previous reviews or description, due to the fact that I expected the documentary to be an upbeat version of some people enjoying themselves at a concert. The concert was pretty good. Horror movie lovers may enjoy the movie backdrop for the concert. This is because the movie ended up being a dystopian take on a young Metallica roadie having to fight for his life against some beings that looked like they came from a dark world and/or dimension. Aside from this caveat (and the fact that the Unforgiven was not performed), the concert included many great hard rock songs such as the classic Enter Sandman, Nothing Else Matters, and One.  Comment | Permalink I Am Hardwell (English Subtitled) DVD Price: $3.99  Hardwell’s Brief Music Bio, April 19, 2014 Verified Purchase(What's this?) The only catch to this documentary is that English is only spoken part of the time and language subtitles are unavailable in the rental version . However, watching the “I Am Hardwell” documentary was very inspirational, along with his message of If You Can Dream It, You Can Do It. I needed to watch such a dvd because I do not plan on being a DJ (I prefer to keep my career dreams secret for now). However, part of me was beginning to wonder if having either too many and/or big dreams is kind of Pollyanna like. Watching his documentary and how he generously shared his action plan helped inspire me to revise and reassess my own action plan to my secret dreams. The following are some of the facts shared in his documentary: January 25, 2013: Hardwell announced his first concert. In 2011, Hardwell made his first appearance at Sensation, one of the world’s leading Dance Events. A version of “Toca’s Miracle” by Fragma can be heard at this event. New York was one of Hardwell’s stops when he did a summer tour back in 2012. In 2012, Hardwell was voted both Breakthrough artist and #6 DJ in the world. Afterlife Interviews, April 5, 2014 Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Dearly Departed (Amazon Instant Video) Dearly Departed, directed by Darryl Anka is an interesting type of fiction film based on reports of near death experiences. The movie is taken through a vantage point of a person who is interviewing spirits who have already crossed over. The strange part is that the viewer is left wondering how this interviewer was able to speak with these souls in the afterlife (channeling maybe?). Either way, the film touches on how personal beliefs and a person’s spiritual energy indirectly impact their next life.  Comment | Permalink

Finn and Jake’s Journeys, April 5, 2014 This review is from: Adventure Time: Season 3 (DVD) I confess that I felt drawn to obtaining Adventure Time Season 3 after it was advertised at my job. I went ahead and purchased it through the Walmart’s Site to Store feature and eventually picked it up the dvd after work. This was also partially due to the fact that my husband and I have been watching this cartoon since 2011 (yes, I know that we are both adults). Adventure Time Season 3 has 26 episodes and some bonus commentaries. For instance, there is an interview of the creator of this series discussing his reasons for creating the cartoon in conjunction with many of those who comprise his viewing audience (parents, children, college students, many adults etc.). The 26 episodes are based on the ones created around 2011. There are multiple episodes that will appeal to various people. For example, my husband enjoyed one of the Fiona and Cake episodes and mentioned that it would be interesting if more episodes and/or a spinoff season were created around Fiona and her cat. Adventure Time Season 3 is also safe for all ages.  Comment | Permalink

Celestial Journeys, April 5, 2014 Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Adventures in the Afterlife (Paperback) Adventures In Afterlife by William Bulham is a fiction book told through a spiritual slant and touches on the journey of Frank in the spirit realm. At first, Frank journeys to a world upon death that mirrors his beliefs and what he was taught (through his religion). He eventually discovers that the afterlife is actually subject to what a man or woman personally believes and that there are various worlds in the non-physical realm as there are souls. He also discovers that a soul can progress in the afterlife, but that they sometimes have to release and be aware that their human identity is not actually who they were. Frank also undergoes instruction that pertains to the theme of becoming a master at reality creation in relation to spiritual enlightenment. I also enjoyed how the author generously shares some of the processes for attaining personal goals and changes in life. There is so much more in this book that I listed and is perfect for those who have an open mind and are truth seekers. I plan to keep coming back to this book more often because of the information that the author generously shares with the tie in to spiritual enlightenment and reality creation.

This book drew my attention because my soul hungers to know various truths in life. Choices in The Afterlife by Gretchen Vogel touches on the tenet that the afterlife that a person experiences is influenced by their current and past lifetimes. She shares some of the work that she has done for those still living and want to know how their loved ones are doing. However, my one caveat with this book is that she implies that the soul is pretty much on their own when crossing over (aside from being greeted by friends or family members). She concludes that one is probably not greeted by their spiritual helpers because her communications with other spirits do not suggest such a reality. I understand that this could be true and that a connection to the higher self is extremely vital. However, other texts that I have been exposed to suggest different realities of being greeted by spirit guides, angels, and other beings in relation to what a man or woman believed on earth. The point that I am making is that I just wish that she would have more strongly and frequently emphasized that what she experiences is only a subjective reality based on what she sees. In her defense, she did lightly touch on the fact that what she saw is not absolute truth. It is just that this emphasis that what she saw was not absolute truth could have been written more frequently in the book. Aside from this caveat, Choices in the Afterlife is told through a heartfelt manner.  Comment | Permalink
Greatest Hits Vol. 1 - The Singles Price: $7.99 90 used & new from $3.55
Goo Goo Dolls Classics, April 5, 2014 This review is from: Greatest Hits Vol. 1 - The Singles (Audio CD) Around 2-3 months ago,I spotted the Greatest Hits Vol. 1 by the Goo Goo Dolls at my Walmart job and purchased it due to it being just five dollars. This collection contains many of the songs that I am familiar with from my high school years (yes, I am showing my age). Slide is probably my favorite song from this collection. However, there is a song to enjoy for many people who like listening to 90’s alternative rock.  Comment | Permalink

Whitney Houston’s Musical Legacy, April 5, 2014 Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Ultimate Collection (Audio CD) Ultimate Collection by Whitney Houston showcases many of the classics from the late singer’s career. I remember hearing many of these songs on the radio and seeing some of the music videos on television (her music was played a lot on the radio and television during the 90’s). There are 18 songs on this collection (I personally enjoy So Emotional and I’m Every Woman the most from this collection). Ultimate Collection by Whitney Houston is great for those who are open to listening to late 80’s, 90’s, and early 2000’s pop music.  Comment | Permalink
Kiss Me Once Price: $18.44 32 used & new from $12.48
Spring 2014 Kylie Minogue, April 5, 2014 Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Kiss Me Once (Audio CD) At first, I was undecided on whether to purchase Kiss Me Once by Kylie Minogue due to the review I read in one of the local newspapers that I received and comparing it with another reviewer of a music website where I am a subscriber to their newsletter. I decided to go with my own intuition to obtain Kiss Me Once due to positive memories of hearing her music on my honeymoon back in early 2004. In my humble opinion, getting Kiss Me Once by Kylie Minogue was very much worth it because of the unique and enjoyable tracks that are reminiscent of not only my honeymoon but a fun and carefree life cycle that I had in the early 2000’s. There are many good songs on this collection. However, I enjoy tracks 4, 5, 10, 3, and 9 the most due to getting a sense of her creative and strong spirit shining the most through these tracks. The dvd portion of this edition also enhances this collection. Overall, Kiss Me One by Kylie Minogue is great to get if you are familiar with any of her previous works and/or enjoy dance/electronica music.  Comment | Permalink

Havana Brown’s Music Symbol of Strength In Life, April 5, 2014 Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Warrior (MP3 Music) Warrior by Havana Brown drew me in after hearing it on the Pandora radio station because of the stance on persistence and staying emotionally strong even in the face of public gossip. In a fun way, Havana Brown sings about emerging as a warrior and champion in her own way and going after what she wants in life (personal dreams)regardless of what situations emerge. Warrior by Havana Brown is great to get if you enjoy triumph songs with a dance/club slant.  Comment | Permalink

Come Hither Type of Song, April 5, 2014 Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Come On Closer (MP3 Music) Come On Closer by Jem is a provocative song that pretty much has the singer confessing how she feels about someone and her “plans” for them. The title of this synth-pop song also denotes the clue and is perfect for those who like daring songs that combine chillout, electronica, and synthpop. 8300 Baltimore Ave College Park, MD 20740 (301) 220-1998 Shanghai Tokyo   Categories: Sushi Bars, Chinese, Thai   4/5/2014 Shanghai Tokyo café proved to be a fantastic choice for my husband and I. We went this past Wednesday. My husband had a satisfying dish of Five Spice noodle with rootbeer, while I had a delicious dish of Shrimp Thai Pineapple Fried Rice. What I also liked about this place is that the servers are friendly and the food is affordable. Edit Remove Send To A Friend Link to This Review 1355 E. University Blvd Takoma Park, MD 20912 (301) 408-0555 Pollo Campero   Category: Latin American   4/5/2014 Pollo Campero is a fast food place that serves some decent food at cheap prices.  My husband had Campero beans with an empanada while I had chicken nuggets (shared with my husband), plantains, yucca fries, tres leches cake, and a Jamaica chilled hibiscus drink.  I only took a few bites of the tres leches cake (due to being pretty full) and my only taste caveat was with the plantains (ended up not eating those as well). However, I enjoyed the rest of the food that my husband and I ordered made it worthwhile.
